Country Overview

Decades of violence in Iraq and surrounding countries have resulted in a multifaceted humanitarian situation, characterised by large parts of the country being directly affected by conflict, as well as multiple waves of large scale displacement, including an influx of refugees from neighbouring Syria. Throughout Iraq, aid stakeholders have been responding to the immediate needs as well as providing support to the recovery of conflict-affected, displaced and returnee populations.

REACH has been present in Iraq since 2012, supporting humanitarian decision-making with assessments and information management activities focusing on the needs of displaced, returnees and other conflict-affected populations.
