Country Overview

The crisis in neighbouring Syria has seen more than one million refugees displaced to Lebanon. With a government policy of restricting the establishment of formal refugee camps, displaced populations have taken up residence in over 1,700 host communities. As the Syrian conflict continues, displacement has been prolonged and continues to place a significant strain on basic services, and intensify the competition over access to affordable housing and livelihood opportunities.

REACH started working in Lebanon in May 2013, and since then, REACH has implemented a range of data collection and analysis interventions to facilitate evidence-based humanitarian planning at strategic and operational levels.
